Black Mangrove Pics

Avicennia germinans...aka black mangrove!

Black mangrove is a part of the Florida mangrove community and is important to the mangrove ecosystem. Its root system traps debris and sediment washed in by shoeline tides. Black, white, and red mangroves provide habitate feeding, breeding and nursery environment for fish, shellfish, birds, and other wildlife.
